Erin Hughes’s “Floored//Flawed” marks her first institutional solo exhibition, hosted at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in Gallery 2, November 2024. This pivotal exhibition introduces the intricacies of her faux-marble process-based collage practice. The show features large-scale 2D works and an immersive floor collage that envelops the entire gallery space, enhancing the reading of the artwork’s ersatz materiality. A research excursion to ‘The Marble Church’ in Bodelwyddan, a commissioned documentary-style video, and an exhibition text complement the installation.
