Euzhan Palcy, awarded an Oscar for her lifelong contribution to film, in 2022 displays her genius in this landmark piece, the first ever Hollywood movie to be directed by a Black woman director. Delving into the atrocities and complexities of apartheid, this 1989 film was shot whilst apartheid regime was still in place, making it all the more remarkable. Stars Donald Sutherland and Marlon Brando.
