Can you already play a bit of the ukulele? Why not join Iwcadwli which is a Welsh language ukulele orchestra here in Aberystwyth?
Under the guidance of local musician Steff Rees you will have fun while developing your musical skills while learning Welsh songs of all kinds. A warm welcome to Welsh speakers of all levels including keen learners. Iwcadwli is run in partnership with Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion.
- Foundation Group 4.30-5.30
A group tailored to less experienced players who will focus on simpler songs developing confidence and instrumental skills at a slower pace. The songs will be three chords to start with C, F, G or G, C, D with further chords and techniques being introduced at a gentle pace.
- Advanced Group 6.00-7.00 BOOK HERE
A group tailored to more experienced players who will focus on slightly more challenging songs and introducing more advanced chords and techniques. The songs will include some that will push you with trickier chords and strumming patterns alongside some fun old favourites.
From time to time Iwcadwli will be invited to perform publicly at local events and it will be possible for the members of the two groups to unite and perform a set of Welsh classics suitable for everyone.
