Director: Vinod Kapri, India, 2024, 110', Hindi with English subtitles

High in the Himalaya, Padam and Tulsi have spent a lifetime on verdant hills where the mountains give shelter - and also shut the world out. As their village empties and age bears down, they bicker through fear and routine, haunted by the prospect of dying alone. Then, after 30 years of silence, a letter arrives from their estranged son, promising he will return - reigniting hope, and a reason to keep living. Pyre is an extraordinarily beautiful and heartbreaking ode to endurance, companionship, and the fragile, necessary hope that keeps us going.

'It is a haunting, beautiful story that resonates deeply, leaving a lasting impact that lingers long after the screen fades to black.' - Asian Movie Pulse
