From the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall in the north east of England, Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening reach out to the wider world, connecting threads of music, landscape and people over almost 2000 years. Named after the old Northumbrian word for twilight, ‘The Darkening’ is: Kathryn Tickell (Northumbrian small pipes, fiddle, vocals), Amy Thatcher (accordion, clogs, synth, vocals), Tim Bloomer (guitar), Joe Truswell (drums), and Stef Conner (vocals, lyres). ![]()
