About our spaces

Gallery 1 is purpose-built for high-profile, large-scale exhibitions.

Gallery 2 is dedicated to emerging artists.

Our Cafe Gallery and Piazza is where you’ll find work from our local communities

Our Creative Studios give artists the opportunity to develop their own practice in a safe and supportive environment. Find out more here

The Ceramics Gallery is downstairs at the Arts Centre. There are changing exhibitions usually four times a year in the front gallery.

These include themed exhibitions from the collection as well as curated exhibitions on loan, exhibitions by solo artists, ceramic groups and organisations.

National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales

We have been selected to be part of the network of galleries that will form the National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales. A major capital investment will enable us to share Wales’ national collection of contemporary art with our audiences and the people of the Mid Wales, to develop new partnerships, and commission new work by emerging artists.

School visits and resources

We have a range of activities for schools including gallery education sessions for all key stages, as well as Art Days for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils.

We want to make your class visit as enjoyable as possible, so we provide teacher’s packs with guidelines on how to get the most out of your visit. We also have workshop spaces you can use (just remember to bring your own materials).

To talk to us about visiting with your school, contact Laura Oliver on 01970 62 28 88 / lao8@aber.ac.uk.

Share your work with us

Are you an artist from mid-Wales or further afield looking to share your work? If you would like to tell us more about your work, share details of current shows or projects, or be considered for exhibition, get in touch.

Send us:

  • Any examples of your work (CDs, DVDs, photographs), with information including materials, dimensions etc as appropriate.
  • Your CV
  • A statement and any other supporting information about your work or project telling us why you think it’s relevant and will appeal to our audiences. Please also tell us which gallery space you have in mind. Full details of our spaces can be found here.

Artists’ residencies

Our Artist Residencies give visual artists from Wales, the UK and beyond, the opportunity to develop their work, gain new skills, and network with other creative people.

If you’re an artist looking for time, space and opportunities to collaborate in a new environment, in our award-winning Creative Studios designed by Heatherwick Studio, look out for open calls on our Opportunities page or contact our Exhibitions Curator Ffion.
